Futonics Laser GmbH, (FUT), Katlenburg-Lindau, Germany

The company Futonics Laser GmbH was founded in 2018 as a spin-off from LISA laser products OHG in the geographic center of Germany in Katlenburg-Lindau. Founded was the company by Dr. Peter Fuhrberg, who was also the co-founder of LISA laser products OHG. Futonics and his employees therefore have a long tradition in the laser development for infrared laser systems for medical and industrial applications. In January 2019 Futonics rented a new building in Göttingen with 320 m² laboratory and office space and started the renovation of the main building sited in Katlenburg-Lindau. Futonics has actually 15 employees, including 6 for research and development.

The focus of the company is the development and commercialization of 2 µm fiber laser systems for industrial and scientific applications. Futonics and LISA can look back on over 10 years of experience and many international research projects and collaborations in this field. Futonics offers laser systems with output powers from 10 W to 250 W that can deliver single mode beam quality over the whole power range. The systems utilize a highly robust design and can be built with selected wavelengths in the range from 1930 nm to 2050 nm. For the lasers Futonics offers also accessories like collimators, processing heads and delivery fibers.

Futonics and LISA have a long tradition in successful participation and coordination of European and national projects (see below). Based on these research projects different new products were released
